So I’ve playing around with Sitecore CMS lately. For you that don’t know about Sitecore, you could refer to this Link.
In this post, I would like to share how to create a custom field in Sitecore. The idea for this post is, we will create a custom Sitecore’s field, that could set a latitude and longitude value from Google Map. It’ll consist of a textbox control that will hold the longitude and latitude and 2 buttons; set location and clear location. When we click set locationbutton, it’ll open up a popup windows, and you can point to a specific location, whether the clear button will clear our field value.
I found a very great article from Alex Shyba and Adam Conn that will tell you more specific about how we create a custom field in Sitecore, or you always could find a Sitecore’s documentation in Sitecore Developer Network.
So basically, our custom field will look like this
Here’s the step about how we do this .
As we know for now on, twitter has becoming a large social network these days. And it’s pretty great if we could develop a twitter client that made by ourselves.
Well, in this post, i will try to explain about how we doing this one. We will try to request a public timeline from twitter, get value from their xml file, store it to our local object and show it to our UI. You could do this one using windows application, WPF, Silverlight or whatever. I will not put any home timeline, mention, etc that required authentication. In handling OAuth with twitter, i will create a new post later.
We will try to create our simple tweet client using Windows Phone 7. Ok, lets start then…
VS 2008 Prerequisites
Recently, after you create your application (web or windows app) in VS .Net 2008 / 2010 of course you create your setup project / click once deployment for better distribution of your application. But we will found a problem if we want to include .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 as our prerequisites in the same directory as the application. You will found error message like this one : “The install location for prerequisites has not been set to ‘component vendor’s web site’ and the file ‘DotNetFX35SP1\dotNetFX20\netfx20a_x86.msi’ in item ‘.NET Framework 3.5 SP1‘ can not be located on disk.”. Well, it’s because by default, .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 will be download from Microsoft Download Center website due to size restrictions.
The question is, how we include .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 in our installation package? well, Microsoft has provided way to doing this. You can find the full instruction in Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 Readme.
A couple days ago, DevTeam released their newest jailbreaking tool (Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 with compatibility of cydia and mobile substrate with IOS 4.2.1) that can used to jailbreaking IOS 4.2.1.
